MITI to officially take PKL and KAL under its wing

JAKARTA – PT Mitra Investindo Tbk (MITI) has officially acquired PT Pelayaran Karana Line (PKL) and PT Karya Abdi Luhur (KAL), which initially belonged to PT Perusahaan Pelayaran Samudra Karana Line (PSKL), for IDR 178 billion. The fund is provided by PT Inti Bina Utama (IBU), which has recently been listed as MITI’s shareholder via a rights issue.

Ignatius Edy Suhardaya, Director of MITI, revealed that the acquisition of PKL has used up IDR 113 billion, while IDR 65 billion was spent on KAL. “With this acquisition, financial statements of PKL and KAL will be consolidated into the company’s financial report, starting from December 9, 2022,” he said in the information disclosure quoted Tuesday (13/12).

After this corporate action, there will be changes in MITI’s financial report at the end of this year. From its last unaudited financial report in May 2022, MITI’s assets will proliferate 181.90% from IDR 172.11 billion to IDR 485.18 billion, and so would its liabilities, increasing 172.68% from IDR 31.76 billion to IDR 86.60 billion. Its equity will also grow 183.98% from IDR 140.36 billion to IDR 398.58 billion. The revenue skyrocketed 429% from IDR 29.54 billion to IDR 156.17 billion, while its current year’s profit shot up 606.52% from IDR 3.50 billion to IDR 24.76 billion. (LK/ZH)
