Net foreign volume minus nearly 10 billion shares

JAKARTA - On Tuesday (December 13), foreign investors' net trading volume was minus nearly 10 billion shares, or -9,915,576,200 shares to be precise. This fantastic figure is derived from the difference between foreign sales volume (15.71 billion shares) and the volume purchased (5.79 billion shares). PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) alone contributed a negative 9.89 billion shares or 99% of this total net volume. Foreign investors sold 13,882,309,200 GOTO shares, for a total purchase of only 4 billion shares.

Aside from GOTO, foreigners sold 154.19 million shares of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM), while 82.72 million shares of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) were also sold. There were also 47.49 million shares of PT Global Mediacom Tbk (BMTR) and 64.66 million shares of PT MNC Asia Holding Tbk (BHIT) that escaped the foreign pockets.

Foreign investors, on the other hand, prefer PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) shares. A total of 305.44 million BUMI shares were sold, with a net volume of 205.10 million. The shares of technology issuer PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) then recorded a net volume of 76.08 million shares after foreigners purchased 115.46 million shares. Foreign investors then acquired 113.56 million shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), as well as 30.41 million shares of PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL), and 47.95 million shares of PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk (EMTK). The previous three issuers reported foreign net volumes ranging from 20 million to 30 million shares. (KD)
