JAKARTA - PT Integrasi Jaringan Ekosistem (Weave) has purchased a fibre optic network that spans 3.984,5 km across Java Island from PT XL Axiata Tbk (EXCL).

Martha Rebecca, Director of PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk (WIFI), the parent company of Weave, claimed that her company and XL Axiata had signed the asset purchase agreement a couple of days earlier (20/12). "Weave purchases and receives the transfer of fibre optic and its supporting infrastructure," she mentioned in the information disclosure quoted Thursday (22/12).

On top of this, two companies also signed the telecommunication fibre network lease agreement, which will take effect for the next 10 years.

According to Rebecca, this collaboration expands its business scope, and, in turn, will boost the company's performance.

As of now, WIFI manages several digital infrastructures, including a fibre optic network of 8,100 km in Java Island, 563 stations as points of presence, and 144 cores with an internet speed capacity of 64 Tbps. (LK/ZH)
