JAKARTA – The profit of PT Metrodata Electronics Tbk (MTDL) shrank 11% year-on-year (yoy) to IDR 146.4 billion in Q1 2023. It was also accompanied with 12.8% yoy decrease in revenue.

Susanto Djaja, President Director of Metrodata Electronics, said that the revenue and profit in Q1 2023 reached IDR 4.5 trillion and IDR 146.4 billion. In the same period in 2022, the revenue and the net profit clocked up to IDR 5.16 trilliun and IDR 164.59 billion.

The contribution of hardware products to the total revenue was IDR 2.98 trillion, lower than IDR 3.81 trillion in Q1 2022. Software products generated IDR 1.20 trillion of sales in Q1 2023, shifting from IDR 887.90 billion, followed by service and maintenance that declined from IDR 462.54 billion to IDR 312.57 billion, and other segments that grew from IDR 5.92 billion to IDR 7.13 billion.

According to Djaja, the top three services of eight pillars of digital solution of the company are cyber security, cloud services, dan digital business. All in all, those eight services reportedly grew 40% yoy.

Furthermore, the company remains optimistic despite the decreases in its revenue and net profit in Q1 2023. The company believed that the demand for information and communication technology will continue to rise and recover in the next quarter. (LK/ZH)
