JAKARTA – The revenue of PT Astra Internasional Tbk (ASII) increased 13% in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. However, the net profit declined 4% to IDR 17.44 trillion from IDR 18.17 trillion.

In the press release quoted Monday (31/7), Djony Bunarto Tjondro, President Director of Astra Internasional, said that the optimism of Astra Group in its performance is well-maintained for the rest of the year, although the global condition imposes many challenges. “Astra Group recorded quite solid performance in the first half of 2023, supported by improvements from nearly all business division,” he added.

The revenue was recorded at IDR 162.39 trillion, shifting from IDR 143.69 trillion in the first half of 2022. The net profit, prior to fair value adjustment of investments in GoTo and Hermina, increased 20% to IDR 17.31 trillion from IDR 14.46 trillion. Then, the fair value adjustment of investments in GoTo and Hermina was IDR 130 billion, plummeting 96% from IDR 3.71 trillion.

The automotive business division generated IDR 5.69 trillion of profit, growing 33% from IDR 4.27 trillion, followed by financial services that rose 32% from IDR 2.90 trillion to IDR 3.82 trillion, as well as the heavy equipment, mining, construction, and energy that shifted 11% from IDR 6.19 trillion to IDR 6.88 trillion.

The agribusiness sector brought in IDR 293 billion, down 11% from IDR 645 billion, while the infrastructure and logistics went up 42% to IDR 502 billion from IDR 353 billion, and the property segment put in IDR 68 billion, shrinking 7% from IDR 73 billion. (LK/ZH)
