JAKARTA - PT Nusantara Sejahtera Raya Tbk (CNMA), the managing company of XXI Theatre network, managed to book revenue of IDR 2.4 trillion in the first half of 2023. It grew 22% from IDR 2 trillion scored in the same period in 2022. This achievement is supported by Eid holiday and school break at the same time COVID-19 pandemic subsided.

Hans Gunadi, President Director of Cinema XXI, said that the contribution of theatre ticket sales covered 60.2% of total revenue in H1 2023. “The foods and beverages also brought in 35.6%, advertising revenue generated 1.6%, and digital platform covered another 2.2%,” he said in the press release quoted Tuesday (29/8).

In the first half of 2023, the total audience figures clocked up to 36.9 million, growing 22.3% year-on-year (yoy) from 30.1 million. With these numbers, gross box office (GBO) of XXI reached IDR 1.6 trillion, while food and beverages products’ sales proliferated 40.5% from IDR 675 billion to IDR 948.2 billion. The percentage of F&B products’ sales compared to GBO also increased from 47.9% to 58.5%.

In this first half, EBITDA was recorded at IDR 681.1 billion, while profit before taxes clocked up to IDR 274.5 billion, and the net profit arrived at IDR 215.1 billion. (LK/ZH)
