JAKARTA - On Thursday, August 31, foreign investors traded a massive amount of stock. The total number of shares purchased exceeded 8.31 billion, while foreigners sold 7.22 billion. As a result, there was a net foreign volume surplus of 1,093,114,000 sheets. This figure was driven by PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), a technology company that recorded a foreign purchase volume of 5.46 billion and a net volume of 1.65 billion shares.

PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) also had a significant amount of foreign spending, with 451.20 million shares. However, many shares of this mineral mining company were also sold, resulting in a net volume of only 21.27 million shares. PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), BRMS's parent company, apparently recorded a relatively high net volume, at 96.41 million, despite foreigners only purchasing around 170.43 million shares of BUMI. More than 55 million shares of PT MAP Aktif Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPA), a lifestyle retailer, also appeared to be of foreign interest, with a net volume of 24.84 million. Furthermore, the shares of the copper producer PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) had a purchase volume of 20.67 million shares, with a net volume of nearly 18 million shares.

Foreign investors, on the other hand, dumped nearly 100 million shares of PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR). The shares of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM), a state-owned telecom company, were also released in large numbers—171.54 million shares in total. The two issuers above then recorded net volumes of roughly minus 80 million shares each. The transportation company PT Temas Tbk (TMAS) then reported a foreign sales volume of 162.97 million and a net volume of nearly -70 million. Foreign sales of shares in the leading private bank, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), reached 121.90 million, but the net volume was only around 50 million shares. Finally, with a net volume of -43.70 million, foreigners sold 68.60 million shares of logistics company PT MPX Logistics International Tbk (MPXL). (KD)
