JAKARTA. PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) recorded sales of 465,869 units of cars throughout January-October (10M) 2023.

ASII’s car sales until October 2023 represented 56% of national car sales, as presented in the data from The Association of the Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo). The total national wholesales of cars of 10M 2023 were recorded at 836.049 units.

Boy Kelana Soebroto, Head of Corporate Communications ASII, confirmed that as of now, the company controls 56% of national car wholesales market. “We hope national car sales could continue to be positive until the end of this year,” he added in the official disclosure.

Toyota & Lexus were still the main contributor of ASII’s car wholesales, reporting total vehicles sold of 275,801 units in 10M 2023. Then, Daihatsu’s cars saw sales of 161,650 units, followed by Isuzu of 26,661 units, UD Trucks of 1,575 units, and Peugeot of 182 units.

Out of those sold cars of ASII, Low-Cost Green Car (LCGC) recorded sales contribution of 131,182 units. They are equal to 28% of total car sales throughout the first 10 months of 2023. ASII’s market share for LCGC in this period remained at 74%.

For the record, ASII’s car sales in 2022 reached 574,198 units, resulting in market share of 55%. (KR/ZH)
