JAKARTA. PT Tunas Alfin Tbk (TALF), a packaging and container manufacturer, attempts to lower down its operational costs by utilising power generated by solar panels installed at the roof of a factory.

In relation to this plan, TALF has signed an agreement with one of its subsidiaries, PT Centra Multi Suryanesia Aset (CMSA). In said agreement, CMSA is said to be the one handling construction and installation of solar panels at the roof of TALF’s factory located in Tangerang, Banten.

However, in the same agreement, TALF is said to rent solar panels with an agreement tenor of 20 years. “The company may be able to acquire the panels once the contract ended,” said Bernardus Budiman, Director of TALF, in the information disclosure in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).

For the record, the solar power plant built by CMSA has a total capacity of 1,052.825 kilowatt peak (kWp). The value of agreement set by TALF and CMSA is IDR 29.54 billion for 20 years.

“The impact towards operation of the company is that the operational activities will become greener by using solar power, and, in the future, it is expected to lower carbon emission,” Budiman added further. (KR/ZH)
