JAKARTA - Foreign share purchasing and selling activities on Monday, January 8, continued a declining trend from previous trading days, with a foreign buy volume of 1.85 billion shares and a foreign sell volume of only 1.64 billion. Nonetheless, net foreign volume remained in the green zone, with a surplus of 211.44 million shares. The most purchased shares belonged to the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), amounting to 224.88 million shares, with a net volume of 30.82 million shares.

Foreign investors also purchased shares in two banks: PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) and PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS). A total of 129.54 million BMRI shares were purchased, for a net volume of 46.58 million shares, followed by 43.23 million BRIS shares, for a net volume of 32.34 million. Aside from that, 39.52 million shares of coal producer PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk (ADRO) were also bought, for a net volume of 27.88 million shares. In the palm oil plantation industry, PT Nusantara Sawit Sejahtera Tbk (NSSS) shares were purchased up to 25.67 million, for a net volume of 24.24 million shares.

Meanwhile, the most sold shares were of PT Lovina Beach Brewery Tbk (SRTK), with around 55.58 million shares sold and a net volume of -18.48 million shares. The shares of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF) in the pharmaceutical sector were then sold for 49.40 million shares with a net volume of -32.73 million shares, followed by the sale of PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA) in the metals and minerals sector for 29.17 million shares and a net volume of -19.32 million. Foreign investors also sold 15.41 million shares of natural gas transmission and distribution business PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) and 19.81 million shares of rubber goods manufacturer PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk (GJTL). The two share-selling transactions resulted in net volumes of approximately -14 million shares for each of those issuers. (KD)
