JAKARTA - Share purchase transactions done by foreign investors on Wednesday, January 31, resulted in a foreign purchase volume of 3.04 billion shares. With a foreign sales volume of only 2.69 billion shares, net foreign volume closed at a 349.91 million surplus. The most shares purchased belonged to the banking company PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), whose 156.95 million shares were bought, and it recorded a net volume of 61.67 million shares.

Then, foreign investors also bought 120.15 million shares of the renewable energy business PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA) and only sold about 7 million shares, making the net volume 112.89 million. In the coal mining industry, 113.27 million shares of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) were purchased, resulting in a net volume of 59.60 million shares. The shares of the banking company PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS) were then purchased for 62.59 million shares with a net volume of 50.43 million shares, followed by the purchase of 47.05 million shares of the maritime and port services company PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk (HUMI) with a net volume of 42.95 million.

Foreign investors sold 55.27 million shares of airline business PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (GIAA) and 72.40 million shares of e-commerce company PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) for a net volume of around -40 million shares each. Furthermore, shares of PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO), which produces geothermal energy, were sold for 32.49 million shares, with a net volume of -25.29 million shares. Finally, around 37.23 million shares of the energy resources infrastructure company PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) were sold, with a net volume of -14.62 million shares. (KD)
