JAKARTA. PT Mitra Keluarga Karyasehat Tbk (MIKA), a healthcare provider, has set up a capital expenditure (capex) budget of approximately IDR 800 billion to IDR 1 trillion this year to support its strategy to expand its hospital network.

Aditya Widjaja, Head of Investor Relations of MIKA, mentioned that said capex will be utilised by the company to build approximately 2 to 3 hospitals with a capacity of 200 to 1200 beds. “The ground breaking of this new hospital will take place this year, and is expected to immediately operate in 2025,” added Widjaja, as quoted in Investor Daily.

MIKA will also increase the capacity of existing hospitals by 200 to 3000 beds. In addition, the company will intensify its Centre of Excellence (CoE) as its business focus, so that the contribution towards the consolidated revenue may increase.

“Capex will also be used by the company to update medical devices,” Widjaja explained.

Regarding the new hospital construction, MIKA will focus its expansion in 2 strategic locations, such as Greater Jakarta Area and Surabaya. “Aside from cities, we also start to explore several cities around Jakarta and Surabaya,” added Joyce V. Handayani, Director of MIKA, a while ago.
