JAKARTA - On Friday, March 15, foreign buying and selling volumes reached a record-high level of 26 billion shares each. Because foreign selling volume (26.43 billion shares) exceeded foreign buying volume (26.08 billion shares), net foreign volume then closed at -351.20 million shares. The shares purchased in significant numbers belonged to the digital company PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), which was purchased for 9.94 billion shares for a net volume of 767.52 million.

Following GOTO, 112.12 million shares of the oil and gas distribution business PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) were purchased, for a net volume of 38.68 million shares. The next buy target was the telecommunications company PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk (FREN), with foreign investors purchasing 34.86 million shares for a net volume of 34.37 million. In the banking sector, 32.59 million shares of PT Bank KB Bukopin Tbk (BBKP) were purchased, with a net volume of 31.31 million shares, followed by 212.81 million shares of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI), with a net volume of 25.46 million shares.

Meanwhile, shares of the mineral mining business PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) were sold for 254.30 million shares while only around 78 million shares were purchased, resulting in a net volume of -176.02 million shares. Shares of its parent firm, PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), in the coal mining sector were also sold for 125.04 million shares, for a net volume of -97.31 million. Apart from that, shares of the pharmaceutical company PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (KLBF) were sold for approximately 119.96 million shares, with a net volume of -91.82 million shares. Much like KLBF, shares of the e-commerce company PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA) were sold for 119.49 million shares with a net volume of -77.88 million. Finally, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) shares in the banking sector were sold for 244.30 million, resulting in a net volume of -89.71 million. (KD)
