JAKARTA - The performance of PT Samudera Indonesia Tbk (SMDR) was seen declining throughout 2023 compared to 2022, due to decreased revenue of shipping and agent services. The current year's net profit was down 66.36% year-on-year (yoy), from IDR 326.99 billion to to IDR 109.99 billion.

Based on Financial Report 2023 quoted Thursday (28/3), the company recorded revenue of IDR 772.40 billion, down 32.89% yoy from 2022 sales of IDR 1.15 trillion. Shipping and agent service scored IDR 617.79 billion, declining from IDR 1.02 trillion. Logistics and port segment generated IDR 158.29 billion, increasing from IDR 139.32 billion, while other sources brought in IDR 24.14 billion, up from IDR 21.39 billion.

The gross profit was recorded at IDR 153.76 billion, dropping 60.98% yoy from IDR 394.19 billion, dragging down the gross profit margin to 19.90% from 34.24%. Meanwhile, profit before taxes was slipping 64.34% yoy to IDR 118.55 billion from IDR 332.45 billion. (LK/ZH)
