JAKARTA – PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM), an issuer and State-owned Enterprise (SOE) engaged in the telecommunication sector, is allocating jumbo dividend of IDR 17.58 trillion for the fiscal year 2023.

"The Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) agreed upon dividend distribution of IDR 17.58 trillion or 72% of total net profit in 2023," added the management of Telkom.

The remaining IDR 6.88 trillion, or 28% of total net profit attributable to the parent entity, is allocated as retained earnings.

Based on Financial Report 2023 of Telkom, the net profit attributable to the parent entity clocked up to IDR 24.56 trillion or soaring 18% year-on-year (yoy) from IDR 20.75 trillion seen in December 2022.

However, the dividend payout ratio (DPR) for the fiscal year 2023, of 72%, is lower than the DPR in 2022 of 80%

"However, the dividend per share increases. Last year, even if it was 80%, it only reached IDR 167. This time, even if it is only 72%, the dividend per share is IDR 178, or growing approximately 6.5%," said Heri Supriadi, Director of Finance and Risk Management, during the AGMS today (3/5).

Furthermore, the management of Telkom also said that the shareholders eligible for dividend are those whose names have been registered under Official Register of Shareholders of TLKM in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on May 17, 2024.

The dividend distribution of IDR 178.5 per share is scheduled to take place no later than June 6, 2024. With this amount of dividend, the dividend yield of TLKM, according to TLKM's closing price on May 3 of IDR 3,160 per share, is 5.65%. (ZH)
