Medco Energi to issue IDR 1 trillion in bonds for refinancing

JAKARTA – PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MEDC) plans to offer the Sustainable Bonds VI Phase I Year 2025, with a total principal amount of IDR 1 trillion across several series.
MEDC has not yet disclosed the principal amount and coupon rates of the bonds to be offered. However, at least four bond series will be issued, with tenors ranging from a minimum of three years to a maximum of ten years.
The bookbuilding period is scheduled for April 22 to May 16, 2025. The public offering is expected to take place between June 3–5, 2025, with listing on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) set for June 13, 2025.
MEDC will allocate the entire proceeds from the bond issuance to refinance existing debt. This includes IDR 808.19 billion to repay bonds maturing in 2026, with the remainder to be used for settling outstanding amounts under the Sustainable Bonds V Phase I Year 2023 Series B.
The bonds have received an “idAA-” rating from Pefindo.
The joint lead underwriters and underwriters for the issuance are PT BRI Danareksa Sekuritas, PT DBS Vickers Sekuritas Indonesia, PT Mandiri Sekuritas, and PT Trimegah Sekuritas Tbk (TRIM). PT Bank Mega Tbk (MEGA) has been appointed as the trustee. (KR/ZH)
