MORA expands FTTH network 14% in 2024

JAKARTA – Telecommunications provider PT Mora Telematika Indonesia Tbk (MORA) recorded significant business growth throughout 2024.
MORA CEO Jimmy Kadir stated that one of the key drivers behind this growth was the launch of Moratelindo Network Interconnect and Content Autonomous (MoNICA).
“This interconnection service provides direct access between Internet service providers—both among MoNICA members and international exchanges such as Equinix Internet Exchange (EIE), SGIX in Singapore, JPIX in Japan, HKIX in Hong Kong, Any2 Exchange in the United States, and AMS-IX in Europe,” Jimmy said during a public presentation in Jakarta on Thursday (5/6).
In addition to the new service, MORA’s Fibre to the Home (FTTH) network grew 14% year-on-year in 2024, reaching over 788,000 homepasses, directly driving sales growth.
Meanwhile, MORA’s Chief Technology Officer Michael C. McPhail noted that FTTH customer growth surged 37% to over 227,000, while enterprise customers rose 16% to more than 12,000.
He added that this translated into strong performance in the retail segment, where revenue grew 17% to IDR 1.11 trillion by the end of 2024.
MORA also boosted its bandwidth capacity by 8% to 32 TB. This contributed to a 31% increase in wholesale segment revenue, which reached IDR 804 billion.
However, data from IDNFinancials.com showed that MORA’s total revenue fell 7% to IDR 4 trillion in 2024, while net profit plunged 56.5% to IDR 245.5 billion.
This downward trend continued into the first quarter of 2025, with net profit dropping 47.49% to IDR 104.6 billion and revenue declining 19.3% to IDR 895.5 billion. (DH/KR/ZH)
