Another 16.5 million Bakrie Sumatra Plantation shares purchased by Paradiso Resources (UNSP)

On Thursday, March 21, Paradiso Resources Ltd. added approximately 16.5 million more shares of PT Bakrie Sumatra Plantations Tbk (UNSP) after purchasing nearly 17 million shares on the previous trading day. PT Samuel Sekuritas Indonesia was the facilitator behind the transaction, which increased Paradiso's ownership stake in UNSP from 6.07% to 6.73%. Additionally, PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SMCB), a company in the building materials industry, received 232,700 shares of new investment from foreign investor Taiheiyo Cement Corporation, and PT Maskapai Reinsurance Indonesia Tbk (MREI), a reinsurance company, had 20,000 shares purchased by Bank of Singapore Limited.

On Monday, March 18, PT. MNC Asia Holding Tbk repurchased shares of media and broadcasting issuer PT Global Mediacom Tbk (BMTR), after the company had released 60 million shares of its shares on the previous trading day. PT MNC Sekuritas assisted this parent issuer to conduct the transaction, in which MNC Asia currently owns about 36.38% of BMTR. Also, around 2.15 million shares in PT Sinar Mas Multiartha Tbk (SMMA), a financial services subsidiary, were acquired by PT Sinar Mas Cakrawala, another parent company.

On Friday, March 15, 2 billion shares of the energy and industrial issuer PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT), which is owned by businessman Prajogo Pangestu, were liquidated. Two securities—PT Bahana Sekuritas and PT BNI Sekuritas—were used to register this share transaction. Prajogo used to own about 71.19% of the shares, making him the controlling shareholder; however, the most recent share sale reduced his ownership to 69.05%.

On Wednesday, March 13, MUFG Bank Ltd., a Japanese bank, took over as PT Mandala Multifinance Tbk's (MFIN) new controlling shareholder. Having acquired more than 1.87 billion shares through PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk, this investor now holds 70.61% of the shares of the consumer finance company. Local investor PT Adira Dinamika Multi Finance Tbk also acquired 265 million MFIN shares in total, granting it immediate control over 10% of the shares.

On Friday, March 8, over 2.29 billion shares of PT Bank BTPN Tbk (BTPN) were annexed by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation - Equity, the bank's majority shareholder. SMBC had previously owned about 88.52% of BTPN shares, but after this most recent transaction, its ownership has increased to 91.06%. PT Bank HSBC Indonesia was chosen to facilitate the purchase. In addition, Low Tuck Kwong, the controlling shareholder of PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN), acquired 173.02 million BYAN shares. The ownership of this individual investor increased as well, going from 61.61% to 62.12%.

Up to 361.50 million shares of PT Fortune Indonesia Tbk (FORU) were transferred from PT Karya Citra Prima, the company's controlling shareholder, to IMR Asia Holding Pte Ltd, a foreign investor, on Thursday, March 7. Karya Cipta's ownership has drastically decreased from 89.25% to 11.55%, while this new investor based in Singapore now controls 77.7% of the issuer providing marketing communications services. The two investors conducted stock trading transactions using the same security, PT CGS International Sekuritas Indonesia.
