JAKARTA – The rupiah weakened by 1.8% against the US dollar in the spot market on Tuesday (8 April), closing at IDR 16,853/USD.

Although the exchange rate has yet to officially breach the IDR 17,000/USD mark, several banks in Indonesia have already been selling the US dollar at higher rates, reaching up to IDR 17,165/USD.

Below are the rupiah exchange rates against the US dollar at PT Bank Mega Tbk (MEGA), PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), and PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk (BNII) as of April 9, 2025:
