JAKARTA – A surprising surge occurred in the Donald Trump-themed meme cryptocurrency ($TRUMP), also known as MAGA (Make America Great Again), with its price skyrocketing.

On April 24, 2025, the MAGA coin price jumped 58.23% to $14.7 following an announcement that the top 220 token holders would be invited to a private dinner with US President Donald Trump at the Trump National Golf Club in Washington, DC, on May 22. Additionally, the top 25 holders would gain access to an exclusive pre-dinner reception and a VIP White House tour.

The event is organized as a gesture of appreciation for the loyalty of coin holders and serves as a special moment to share Trump’s vision for the future of cryptocurrency.

The 58.23% increase made MAGA coin the best-performing asset among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization on that day, according to reports from InvestorPlace and Benzinga.

During the event, Trump is scheduled to deliver an exclusive speech discussing the role and immense potential of cryptocurrency in the future.

Although referred to as the “Crypto President,” the event is explicitly not part of a political campaign or fundraising effort. The organizers, Fight Fight Fight LLC, emphasized that the $TRUMP token is not a security or official financial instrument, but rather an expression of support for Trump as a figure.

The official website also issued important warnings to potential participants about phishing scams, clarifying that they would never request coin transfers and only require ownership verification through crypto wallet addresses.

The $TRUMP meme coin was launched on January 17, 2025, just three days before Trump’s inauguration as US President. Initially, the launch was not publicly announced, raising concerns that the cryptocurrency might be a scam and unrelated to the elected president.

Hours later, Trump officially announced $TRUMP on his social media accounts, X and Truth Social. The Meme Coin website described it as Trump’s only official meme coin, featuring a logo of a cartoon Trump raising his fist after surviving an assassination attempt in July 2024. (EF/LM)
