ASII CEO Djony Bunarto: Capex budget set at IDR 28 trillion for 2025

JAKARTA – PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) has allocated a capital expenditure (capex) budget of IDR 28 trillion for investments in 2025.
ASII President Director Djony Bunarto Tjondro explained that the budget may be adjusted depending on evolving economic conditions.
In a context of weakening consumer purchasing power and sluggish economic growth, he noted that the company remains cautious with capital spending.
"The capex budget could be reduced to IDR 25 trillion or even lower," Djony stated at a press conference on Thursday (8/5).
As of the end of the first quarter of 2025, ASII had realised IDR 4.5 trillion in capex. These investments were directed toward the company’s core business segments, including automotive, financial services, heavy equipment, mining, agribusiness, infrastructure, and property.
In addition to strengthening its core operations, ASII is also focusing on investments in new sectors with long-term growth potential, particularly healthcare.
"We see significant potential in the healthcare sector and are working to expand into it," Djony said.
As part of this effort, ASII, through its subsidiary PT Astra Digital Internasional, has increased its investment in Halodoc.
In the health-tech platform, ASII led Halodoc’s Series D funding round with USD 100 million, bringing its total investment to USD 135 million or around IDR 2.02 trillion.
ASII's stake in Halodoc has continued to rise, and as of February 2025, it stood at 31.34%, with the most recent transaction valued at USD 57 million or approximately IDR 900 billion.
As a result, ASII’s total investment in the healthcare sector has now reached IDR 5.2 trillion. (DK/ZH)
