JAKARTA – Saudi energy giant Saudi Aramco has signed 34 initial agreements with various US companies, totalling USD 90 billion or around IDR 1,488 trillion.

Most of these deals take the form of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs). Some agreements, such as Aramco’s LNG purchase contracts from the US, were previously announced.

“Agreements with major US companies are conducted through entities within the Aramco Group,” the company said in an official statement on Wednesday (14/5).

US companies involved in the agreements span the oil and gas sector (ExxonMobil), energy (Sempra Infrastructure, Woodside Energy, NextDecade), and technology (Amazon, Nvidia, Qualcomm).

The agreements cover cooperation in fuels, chemicals, emission reduction technologies, artificial intelligence, digital solutions, industrial manufacturing, services, and more.

According to Aramco, these MoUs and agreements are designed to build long-term relationships with US companies, enhance shareholder value, and drive collaboration and innovation in the energy sector.

Aramco President and CEO Amin H Nasser said the company’s activities in the US have grown over decades, including research and development, Motiva refinery operations, investments in startups, and LNG collaboration potential. (DH/KR/ZH)
