Prabowo meets King and PM of Thailand, talks bilateral cooperation

JAKARTA – President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto will take part in a series of state events on Monday (19/5) as part of his official visit to Thailand to strengthen the strategic partnership.
“He will carry out a number of important activities aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between Indonesia and Thailand,” said Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media, Yusuf Permana, in a press statement in Bangkok on Sunday (18/5).
President Prabowo is scheduled to begin the day at 9:30 AM local time with an official audience with the King of Thailand, Maha Vajiralongkorn, at the Ampom Royal Palace.
Following the audience, Prabowo will proceed to the Government House to attend the official welcoming ceremony hosted by the Prime Minister of Thailand, Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
After the state ceremony, Prabowo will hold a bilateral meeting with Shinawatra, accompanied by several high-ranking officials, including the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Cabinet Secretary, and Indonesia’s Ambassador to Bangkok.
Yusuf added that the bilateral meeting would be followed by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
“After the bilateral meeting, the signing of an MoU is planned,” said Yusuf.
The state visit will conclude with an official luncheon at the Government House. (KR/ZH)
