JAKARTA – The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) fell 0.87% over the first week of June, closing at 7,113.42 at the end of trading on Thursday, 5 June 2025.

According to data from the bourse, blue-chip banking stocks dropped this week, which in turn dragged the IHSG down.

For example, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), plunged 7.87% over the week to IDR 4,100, shaving 53.51 points off the IHSG.

Likewise, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) declined 5.05% to IDR 8,925, pulling the index down by 32.36 points.

Third on the list of this week’s top laggards was another national bank, PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI), which slid 4.25% to IDR 5,075, causing the IHSG to fall by 19.81 points.

PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS)still awaiting clarity on a spin-off from BMRI—plunged 14.33% over the week to IDR 2,570, dragging the IHSG down by 4.4 points.

Meanwhile, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) also posted a decline—albeit a modest 1.56% to IDR 4,420—resulting in a 2.52-point drop in the index.

On the other hand, gains in PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) and PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) of 14.08% and 19.84%, respectively, over the past week helped support the IHSG, contributing 30.79 and 15.57 points to the index. (ZH)
