JAKARTA - On Friday, December 9, Tolaram Group Inc., a Singapore retail company group, increased its ownership of issuer PT Bank Amar Indonesia Tbk (AMAR). Tolaram Group Inc. had previously taken control of AMAR with a 59.49% stake. However, this does not appear to be enough because the group purchased another 3,333,766,029 shares, increasing its ownership to 67.27%.

Interestingly, another controller, PT Sinar Mas Cakrawala, who usually sells shares, bought 9.23 million shares of PT Sinar Mas Multiartha Tbk (SMMA) this time. Then there are two individual investors who increase their investment. First, Lo Kheng Hong, dubbed "Indonesia's Warren Buffet," purchased 3.9 million shares of PT Global Mediacom Tbk (BMTR). The owner of Baracoal, Hasim Sutiono, then purchased 1.25 million shares of PT Cashlez Worldwide Indonesia Tbk (CASH). Lastly, UOB Kay Hian Pte Ltd. acquired 1.54 million shares of PT Eastparc Hotel Tbk (EAST), a Yogyakarta-based hospitality company.

PT Sawit Sumbermas Sarana Tbk (SSMS), on the other hand, had the highest volume of shares sold by investors. At least 125.23 million shares of this palm oil company were sold by PT Putra Borneo Agro Lestari. Furthermore, PT FAC Sekuritas Indonesia passed 74.76 million shares of PT Mitra International Resources Tbk (MIRA), a land transportation issuer.

Foreign investors appear to be selling off their stakes in several companies. This is nothing new: the GOTO Peopleverse Fund has sold 53.61 million shares of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO). Major Intelligence Limited, on the other hand, sold 44.84 million shares of PT Perdana Gapura Prima Tbk (GPRA), and UOB Kay Hian (Hong Kong) Ltd. sold 3.53 million shares of PT MNC Kapital Indonesia Tbk (BCAP).
