JAKARTA - Deposit at the national banking system in December 2022 grew 8.7% compared to December 2021. However, this achievement is weaker when compared to deposit growth from 2020 to 2021.

Data from the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) quoted on Monday (30/1), deposits in 106 national banks were recorded at IDR 8.20 quadrillion and 508.54 million accounts in December 2022. During the same period in 2021, nominal deposits were recorded at IDR 7.54 quadrillion and 386.31 million accounts.

The achievement of deposits in December 2021 grew 12% from the realization of deposits in December 2020 of IDR 6.73 quadrillion.

In terms of accounts, the number of accounts in banks in 2021 was recorded at 386.31 million accounts. It only grew 10.3% from the December 2020 period of 350.32 million accounts.

Of the IDR 8.20 quadrillion at the bank, 53.4% ​​of deposits were in tiering with a nominal value above IDR 5 billion. While the nominal tiering below IDR 100 million is approximately 12.4%, followed by tiering between IDR 200 million-IDR 500 million by 8.2%, tiering IDR 2 billion-IDR 5 billion by 8%, tiering IDR 500 million-IDR 1 billion around 6.9%, and a nominal tiering of IDR 500 million-IDR 1 billion is around 6%.
