JAKARTA - Inflation as of April 2023 was recorded at 4.33%, higher than April 2022 at around 3.47%. However, this inflation level is lower than March 2023 at 4.97%.

In the release quoted on Tuesday (2/5), Margo Yuwono, Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) said that the commodities contributing to inflation included air transportation 1.35, followed by rice 1.10%, gasoline 0.79%, filter cigarettes 0, 57%, household fuel 0.52%, eggs 0.33%, and purebred chicken meat 0.19%.

Inflation occurred in all cities in Indonesia with the highest in Kotabaru, South Kalimantan 6.75%, followed by Tual, Maluku 6.15%, Sumenep, Madura 5.90%, and Bali Nusa Tenggara (Nusra) 5.87%.

Until the first quarter of 2023, the highest inflation rate occurred in February 2023 at 5.47%, up from January 2023 at 5.28% and higher than December 2022 inflation of 5.51%. (LK/LM)
