JAKARTA - Erick Thohir, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) appointed new commissioners of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), namely, Kurnia Toha and Rahmat Hidayat Pulungan at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS), yesterday (15/6). Meanwhile, Agus Suhartono's position as President Commissioner was replaced by Irwandy Arif, who previously served as PTBA Commissioner.

Based on the data compiled by idnfinancials.com on Friday (16/6), Irwandy Arif is known as a Professor at the Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). His figure has a record of serving as members of directors and commissioners in a number of mining issuers in Indonesia. Undergraduate and Masters degrees were completed at ITB and Doctoral degrees at the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine, Lorraine, France.

In addition to the replacement of the President Commissioner, the Ministry of BUMN also appointed two Independent Commissioners from competition law backgrounds and youth organization activists namely, Kurnia Toha and Rahmat Hidayat Pulungan.

Kurnia is a 2018-2023 Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) Commissioner and serves as 2018-2020 KPPU Commissioner Chairman. Doctoral degree completed at the University of Washington in 2007.

While Rahmat Hidayat Pulungan is known to have served as commissioner in a number of BUMNs, including PT Berdikari (Persero) 2013-2015 and PT Rekayasa Industri 2015-2017, and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) 2017-. His figure is known as a GP Ansor activist. (LK/LM)
