JAKARTA - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) listed five business sectors with the largest trading value until June 2023. However, the amount of trading value from several industries on the stock exchange is not linear with market capitalization (market cap) measurements.

Based on the data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) compiled on Thursday (6/7), the financial sector recorded a trading value of IDR 31.20 quadrillion with a total market cap of IDR 37.60 quadrillion. In second place is the energy sector with a trading value of IDR 11.63 quadrillion and a market cap of IDR 11.29 quadrillion. Followed by the consumer cyclicals sector with a trading value of IDR 9.66 quadrillion and a market cap of IDR 4.26 quadrillion, the basic materials value trading sector was recorded at IDR 8.46 quadrillion and a market cap of IDR 10.12 quadrillion, and infrastructure trading value of IDR 7.94 quadrillion and a market cap of IDR 9.25 quadrillion.

As is known, trading value can refer to the total value of shares traded in one trading session. Trading value can be used as an indicator of liquidity and market activity. So, the greater the trading value, the level of activity and market liquidity is higher. (LK/LM)
