JAKARTA. General Election Commission of Indonesia has released initial campaign budget allocated by 3 presidential candidates that will face each other in the upcoming election on February 14, 2024.

Out of those three pairs of candidates, Prabowo Subianto - Gibran Rakabuming Raka recorded the largest initial campaign funds of a total IDR 31.43 billion. Meanwhile, Ganjar Pranowo - Mahfud MD only allocates IDR 23.32 billion, followed by Anies Baswedan - Muhaimin Iskandar of IDR 1 billion.

Although the initial campaign budget reported by Anies Baswedan - Muhaimin Iskandar is the lowest among the three, this candidate also gains the highest campaign fund support pooled from party coalition. The biggest support for this candidate is given by Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS) of IDR 12.71 billion.

Meanwhile, the coalition of supporting parties of Ganjar – Mahfud has the largest amount of pooled campaign funds, reaching IDR 216.05 billion. Most of them comes from Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDIP), which contributes IDR 183.86 billion.

Then, the pooled funds from the coalition of supporters of Prabowo Gibran were recorded reaching IDR 96.09 billion. Most of them are allocated through Partai Solidaritas Indonesia (PSI), which chips in IDR 33.05 billion.

It is worth mentioning that the total campaign funds of each candidate, as well as its supporter coalition, will continue to be updated until the election took place. The data does not include funds raised by other elements, such as followers of candidate and supporting parties. (KR/ZH)
