JAKARTA - On Tuesday, March 19, as many as 268.48 million BTPN shares were purchased by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation - Equity, the controlling shareholder of PT Bank BTPN Tbk (BTPN). Sumitomo Mitsui's ownership stake has now slightly increased to 91.05%. PT Bank HSBC Indonesia facilitated the share purchase by this Japanese investor.

Additionally, the foreign investor Blooming Years Pte Ltd, also known as the controller of PT Multitrend Indo Tbk (BABY), acquired approximately 24.73 million shares of the company, representing a small rise in shares from 89.46% to 90.39%. Subsequently, 16.90 million shares of plantation issuer PT Bakrie Sumatra Plantations Tbk (UNSP) were purchased by Paradiso Resources, another foreign investor. PT Bakrie Capital Indonesia, another UNSP investor, also acquired 200,000 shares through PT KB Valbury Sekuritas. Aside from that, 1.68 million shares were bought by an individual investor Robin to the Medan hospital operator, PT Royal Prima Tbk (PRIM).

On the other hand, the largest share sale this time around was done by PT Shima Global Kapital, which sold 45.75 million shares of PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (ENRG), a company that deals in oil and gas exploration and trading. PT Goldfive Investment Capital then sold 9.75 million shares of the issuer of maritime shipping and logistics services, PT Bintang Samudera Mandiri Lines Tbk (BSML). Additionally, PT Sinar Mas Cakrawala bought another 850,979 shares in PT Sinar Mas Multiartha Tbk (SMMA), its subsidiary that offers financial services.

Information from overseas investors shows that the Government of Singapore, through Citibank Singapore, once again sold 5.13 million shares of PT Dayamitra Telekomunikasi Tbk (MTEL), a company that provides telecommunications infrastructure. GOTO Peopleverse Fund then sold 3.32 million shares of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), a digital company. (KD)
