JAKARTA. PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (ENRG), an oil and gas company under Bakrie Group, has completed the acquisition of 2 active oil assets with ongoing production in Riau.

Syailendra S. Bakrie, President Director of ENRG, mentioned that this acquisition is carried out through PT EMP Energi Gandewa, with 90% interest and operatorship participation in Siak Block, formerly controlled by PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Siak. The remaining 10% interest participation in this block is held by PT Riau Petroleum Siak.

Then, the acquisition of Kampar Block is carried out by PT EMP Energi Riau. The portion of interest and operatorship participation in Kampar Block is 90% for EMP Energi Riau, while another 10% belong to PT Riau Petroleum Kampar.

Bakrie said that the acquisition of Siak and Kampar Block is in line with ENRG’s business development strategy, considering these two blocks are neighbouring other assets of the company. “We hope that this acquisition will optimise the synergy among these assets,” added Bakrie.

For the record, Siak and Kampar Block has been currently under commercial production stage. Therefore, the performance of both blocks is expected to bring positive shift in production and financial performance of the company this year. (KR/ZH)
