JCI slips 0.33% at first session close

JAKARTA – The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) declined by 0.33% by the end of the first trading session on Wednesday (9/4), closing at 11:59 AM WIB. The drop in JCI was mirrored by the performance of several large-cap stocks, which were in negative territory.
The index initially strengthened at 09:15 AM WIB but later fell by 19.71 points to 5,976.43 by the session’s close. During the session, the index peaked at 6,092.41 and reached a low of 5,961.72.
Other indices showed mixed movements. The LQ45 index rose 0.49% to 671.014, IDX30 climbed 0.46% to 354.315, and IDX80 increased 0.20% to 95.942. The IDXESGL was the only index to record a decline, falling 0.20% to 126.735.
Among the large-cap gainers were PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), which rose 1.29% to IDR 7,875; PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI), which gained 0.86% to IDR 4,710, and PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM), which advanced 2.18% to IDR 2,340 per share.
Meanwhile, shares of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) slipped 0.27% to IDR 3,630, and PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) dropped 0.74% to IDR 4,000 per share. (LK/ZH)
