Low volume of foreign buy resulting in net sell of 888 million

JAKARTA – On Thursday, April 17, transactions involving foreign investors on the Indonesia Stock Exchange were once more concluded with a net sell. A net sell of 130.28 million shares from foreign transactions on the previous trading day has escalated to 888.16 million shares today.
The volume of foreign trade today also decreased in comparison to the 3 billion shares that were traded on April 16th, the previous trading day. Just 2.48 billion shares were purchased by foreign investors all together today. Foreign investors sold 3.37 billion shares today, resulting in a net sell volume of 888.18 million shares.
PT GOTO Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) shares saw the biggest net sell and the largest amount of foreign transactions, according to the IDX. GOTO's net sell was 420.09 million shares after foreign buyers purchased 646.32 million shares and sold over 1.06 billion.
Then, the home retail company PT Aspirasi Hidup Indonesia Tbk (ACES) and the gold mining investment company PT J Resources Asia Pasifik Tbk (PSAB) had net sell volumes of 65.15 million ACES and 67.51 million PSAB, respectively. Nearly 30 million shares were purchased by PSAB's overseas investors, while 97.25 million were sold. ACES sold 122.35 million shares, while its foreign buying volume was approximately 57.20 million shares.
After foreigners sold 64.16 million shares of this home appliance company and purchased just 12.60 million, PT Selaras Citra Nusantara Perkasa Tbk (SCNP) followed with a net sell of 64.15 million shares. Finally, foreigners purchased 45.46 million shares of PT Bukalapak.com Tbk (BUKA), an e-commerce issuer, while almost 105 million shares were sold, resulting in a net sell of 60.38 million shares.
With 64.94 million shares, state telecom provider PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) accomplished the biggest net buy. 82.13 million TLKM shares were sold, and 147.07 million were purchased by foreign investors.
With a net buy of 48.79 million shares, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) came in second. This metal ore mining issuer had 94.35 million shares purchased by overseas investors and approximately 45.55 million shares sold.
Then followed net buys of about 28 million shares from the energy and industry business PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) and the renewable energy company PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk (OASA). 51.26 million shares were purchased by foreign investors in BRPT, while 22.40 million shares were sold. About 40.85 million shares were purchased by OASA international investors, who also sold 12.67 million shares.
