BTPN CEO Henoch Munandar: Profit up 1.72% thanks to corporate strategy

JAKARTA – PT Bank SMBC Indonesia Tbk (BTPN) posted a consolidated net profit increase of 1.72% year-on-year (yoy) to IDR 633.77 billion in the first quarter of 2025.
BTPN President Director Henoch Munandar stated that this positive result reflects the company's resilience amid challenging global market conditions.
He emphasised that the achievement was supported by strong and sustainable operational performance, as well as an integrated business strategy aimed at serving various customer segments.
“This achievement further strengthens our steps in facing 2025, with an effective business integration strategy to serve each customer segment and to generate more meaningful growth for society,” Henoch said in a written statement on Thursday (8/5).
The positive performance was reflected in a significant increase in net interest income, which rose by 34.85% from IDR 3.02 trillion to IDR 4.1 trillion. Commission-based income also grew by 34.41% to IDR 332.44 billion in the first quarter of 2025.
Meanwhile, as of the end of March 2025, the company’s lending and financing reached IDR 188.09 trillion, a slight increase of 0.82% compared to the previous figure of IDR 186.56 trillion. Total assets also saw a marginal rise, up 0.11% from IDR 239.84 trillion to IDR 240.12 trillion.
In the first trading session today, Friday (9/5), BTPN’s share price rose 2.33% from IDR 2,150 to IDR 2,200 per share, although it has declined 0.45% over the past five days. (DK/ZH)
