IHSG predicted to remain volatile ahead of long holiday

JAKARTA – Several analysts expect the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) to remain volatile in trading on Thursday (5/6), ahead of the Idul Adha 2025 long holiday.
Ratna Lim, analyst at Phintraco Sekuritas, said that technically the IHSG still indicates a short-term correction that is becoming limited, based on the Stochastic RSI and MACD indicators.
In addition, Ratna noted that investors should be alert to the potential for profit-taking ahead of the long weekend.
“Therefore, the IHSG is expected to continue moving within a volatile range of 7,000–7,120,” said Ratna in her research report.
Meanwhile, Senior Technical Analyst at Mirae Asset Sekuritas, Tasrul Tanar, stated that the IHSG remains in a consolidation pattern within an uptrend movement.
Although there is some selling pressure, Tasrul said the IHSG is still strong enough to continue the upward trend.
“Most likely it won’t break the current pattern, it still looks relatively valid,” explained Tasrul in this morning’s Morning Meeting session.
As previously reported by IDNFinancials.com, the IHSG rose 0.34% in Wednesday’s (4/6) trading to the level of 7,069.04.
Meanwhile, foreign investors continued recording net selling for the third consecutive trading day, bringing the total net sell since the beginning of the year to IDR 49.17 trillion. (KR/ZH)
