Danantara’s IDR 81.5 trillion investment to flow into these sectors

JAKARTA – The sovereign wealth fund Danantara Investment Management (BPI Danantara) is set to invest approximately USD 5 billion, or IDR 81.5 trillion, over the course of this year.
The entire fund originates from dividends paid by a number of state-owned enterprises (SOEs), amounting to IDR 120 trillion, which Danantara manages.
Arief Budiman, Managing Director of Finance at Danantara, stated that these dividends will be reinvested to stimulate the national economy.
Danantara will focus on 8 priority sectors for these investments, in line with the Asta Cita programme of President Prabowo Subianto.
“Our focus will be on the mineral sector including downstream processing, renewable energy, digital infrastructure, healthcare services, financial services, infrastructure, industrial estates, and food security,” said Arief during the National Economic Symposium held in Jakarta on Tuesday (3/6).
In addition to reallocating SOE dividends, Arief added that Danantara continues to pursue co-investments with both domestic and international partners, in terms of financing and capabilities.
According to a previous report by IDNFinancials.com, Danantara Chief Executive Officer Rosan Roeslani said the fund is currently assessing several potential co-investments with investors from multiple countries.
These include Japan, China, and Malaysia. (KR/ZH)
