JAKARTA – PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) has announced the passing of its Independent Commissioner, Kanaka Poeradiredja, on Saturday, 1 August 2026.

"On Saturday, 1 August 2026, the Company received information that Mr Kanaka Poeradiredja, the Company's Independent Commissioner, had passed away," BUMI Director R.A. Sri Dharmayanti said in a statement on Monday (3/8).

Kanaka had also served as Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Company's Risk Management Committee since 2021.

Kanaka Poeradiredja was widely recognised as one of the founders of public accounting firm Kanaka Puradiredja & Suhartono (Nexia KPS), where he served as Senior Partner from 2000 to 2007.

A prominent figure in the auditing and accounting profession, he also co-founded KPMG Indonesia, one of the country's largest accounting firms. Since August 2016, he had served as Chairman of the Certification Board of the Indonesian Audit Committee.

BUMI said the passing of its Independent Commissioner would have no impact on the company's operations, legal affairs, financial condition or business continuity.

Following Kanaka Poeradiredja's passing, BUMI's Board of Commissioners now consists of:

  • Sharif Cicip Sutardjo, President Commissioner and Independent Commissioner;
  • Anton Setianto Soedarsono, Independent Commissioner;
  • Y.A. Didik Cahyanto, Independent Commissioner;
  • Anggawira, Independent Commissioner; and
  • Adhika Andrayudha Bakrie, Commissioner.
