JCI rises 0.54% in early session I

JAKARTA – Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) gained 0.54% in early session I at 09:36 WIB on Wednesday (9/4), rebounding from a 9.19% plunge the previous day that prompted the stock exchange authority to trigger a trading halt.
In morning trade, the JCI surged to 6,092.41 by 09.15 AM WIB from its opening level of 5,979.47. However, the index eased to 5,965.80 by 09.35 AM WIB.
Several other indices followed JCI's upward movement in early trade. The LQ45 Index rose 1.39% to 677.041, IDX30 climbed 1.38% to 357.555, IDX80 gained 1.14% to 96.841, and IDXESGL added 1.07% to 128.345.
Shares of major banks and energy firms with large market capitalisations supported the JCI’s rebound.
PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) rose 1.93% to IDR 7,950, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) edged up 0.27% to IDR 3,660, PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) gained 1.50% to IDR 4,740, and PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) rose 0.99% to IDR 4,060 per share.
Meanwhile, energy stocks that moved into the green included PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN), up 0.25% to IDR 19,925; PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk (ADRO), up 1.52% to IDR 1,670; and PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), up 3.31% to IDR 2,500 per share. (LK/ZH)
