SGER secures IDR 160 billion loan to diversify into H2O2 plant

JAKARTA – PT Sumber Global Energy Tbk (SGER), through its subsidiary PT Hidrogen Peroxida Indonesia (HPI), signed a syndicated loan agreement worth IDR 160 billion on 28 May 2025.
According to SGER’s official statement, HPI is 46% owned by the company.
The syndicated loan is provided by four banks: PT Bank Victoria International Tbk (BVIC), PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten Tbk (BJBR), PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Sulselbar, and PT Bank Sinarmas Tbk (BSIM).
This facility marks the first phase of funding for HPI, which will be used to build a hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) plant in Serang, Banten.
The plant is projected to have an annual production capacity of 20,000 metric tonnes at 100% concentration, or 40,000 metric tonnes at 50% concentration.
“This will make it the second-largest H₂O₂ plant in Indonesia,” wrote Michael Harold H., Corporate Secretary of SGER, in a disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
The plant is also expected to reduce Indonesia’s reliance on hydrogen peroxide imports. According to Michael, hydrogen peroxide imports reached 40,000 metric tonnes in 2023.
In addition, the establishment of the H₂O₂ plant is intended to strengthen SGER’s diversification efforts into non-coal sectors, including the industrial chemicals industry.
“With a positive industry outlook, the operation of this plant will undoubtedly become a new source of revenue for the company,” Michael concluded. (ZH)
